Altera Licenses Arteris FlexNoC Interconnect Fabric IP for System-on-Chip Products

by Kurt Shuler, On Jun 03, 2013

After a complete evaluation of available interconnect fabric IP products, Arteris FlexNoC was the clear choice. FlexNoC is the only SoC fabric that allows us to meet tight timing margins and achieve design frequency requirements. We are pleased with the increased productivity our design team has experienced using FlexNoC.

Altera licensed Arteris’ FlexNoC on-chip interconnect IP for two primary reasons. First, the FlexNoC fabric’s NoC technology enabled improved on-chip latency compared to what was achievable using other solutions. Second, the use of Arteris FlexNoC increased the Altera design team’s productivity, allowing the team to quickly configure and assess multiple architectures and significantly cutting the turnaround time between architecture creation and RTL implementation.

“After a complete evaluation of available interconnect fabric IP products, Arteris FlexNoC was the clear choice,” said Ty Garibay, vice president of Silicon Systems Development, Altera. “FlexNoC is the only SoC fabric that allows us to meet tight timing margins and achieve design frequency requirements. We are pleased with the increased productivity our design team has experienced using FlexNoC.”

“Altera’s selection of Arteris FlexNoC for is a milestone for Arteris’ NoC technology,” said K. Charles Janac, president and CEO of Arteris. “This proves the benefits of FlexNoC’s NoC interconnect technology not only for ASICs, but also for the world’s most advanced FPGAs using next-generation process technology.”
